The German-American Club of Albany, 32 Cherry Street, Colonie, NY 12205. ---Experience a taste of Germany and enjoy some good old-fashioned Gemütlichkeit at The German-American Club of Albany. This long-standing social club with a German heritage is located close by in Colonie. You don't have to be of German descent to become a member or enjoy yourself at this welcoming club. The German-American Club hosts fun events that are open to the public all year long. The German-American Club also has the last authentic Biergarten in the Capital District called Schuetzen Park. This pine tree shaded Biergarten is a wonderful place to enjoy time with friends and family. You can have some wursts, listen to live German music, do some German dances, have a German beer, and even make some new friends. *Note: Niskayuna German students may pick up a German-American Club brochure in Herr Carosella's classroom.

He's also author of the cookbook, New German Cooking, which is due out in January 2015. Do yourself a favor and order dessert here. Jessica Nolen, Chef Nolan's wife, is the amazing pastry chef at Brauhaus Schmitz.
